Last year, Guzman and Isreal’s lives were fundamentally changed with the drilling of a well in their central Nicaragua village. By locating the hand-pump and well in the center of town, Guzman and Isreal’s family and neighbors no longer had to gather water from the river that also served as a laundromat and watering hole for local cattle. The well gave the community hope and a future.
